A selection of works from the Czech photographer, Zdeněk Tmej. He is famous for his photojournalism documenting the strategy of total resistance against the Nazi occupation. His works were preserved through the war because the Gestapo regarded them as purely nostalgic or kitsch but years later their significance in terms of recording the experience of Eastern European citizens became monumental.
